Subseries III, Foreign Officer Correspondence, 1957-1971, treats much of the same time period as semi-official correspondence. As one who ardently believed in cooperation among navies of the free world, Admiral Colbert cultivated and maintained personal friendships with many foreign officers. His correspondents include high ranking officers in the navies of Italy, Venezuela, Norway, West Germany, Argentina, Pakistan, France, England, and Brazil, to name a few.
