George Lawson papers
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of one notebook detailing Lawson's naval service during the final months of World War I, as well as photographs of Lawson on the USS Worden. Naval documents are present as well, including Lawson’s discharge papers and citations of merit.

Biographical Note
George Lawrence Lawson was born on June 30, 1896 in New Haven Connecticut. He left his job as a linotype operater for the New Haven Evening Register to enlist in the U.S. Navy on February 12, 1918. During the end of World War I, he was stationed at Naval Training Station Newport, U.S.S. Carola, U.S.S. Worden, and Receiving Ship New York. He was discharged from service on July 8, 1919.
