Biographical Note
Charles S. Quinn was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1921. He graduated from Queens College and joined the naval reserve in 1938. He enrolled in the V-7 officer program and was commissioned ensign in 1944. During WWII, he served in the Naval Armed Guard and as a gunnery officer in USS Leslie L. B. Knox. In 1946, he resumed active duty and served as a staff officer in Germany, as CO of USS William R. Rush and CO Destroyer Division 102 in USS Joseph P. Kennedy. He was Chief of Staff to CO, Cruiser Destroyer Flotilla Eight in Norfolk, VA and retired in 1965.
