The letters received detail events on the home front, politics, and news of friends, movies, wedding plans, FDR’s death, work and trips. Robert’s letters tell about shipboard life on USS Kidd, his health, appearance, a Japanese attack, future plans, meeting friends from home, and leave. Censorship prevented him from writing about the invasions in which they participated.
