Series III: ONI Translations of documents relating to the German Navy, 1934-1958 and undated
Scope and Contents
Series III is comprised of translations of captured German documents made by the Office of Naval Intelligence, the Naval History Division, and the translating office in London. The translations were reprodued and distributed in limited numbers.
"The War Diary of the German Naval Staff, Operations Division," contains a day-by-day summary of information available to the German General Sttaff and the decisions reached on the basis of it. Together with Fuehrer Conferences on matters dealing with the Germany Navy, 1939-1945 and Fuehrer Directives, 1939-1945, the diaries provide valuable material for the study of problems arising from total war.
Further detailed information is provided by translations of the War Diaries of Captain U-Boats, Italy and Norway; Admiral, Black Sea, and Log of Ship-16 "Atlantic."
