Felt, Harry D., ADM, USN, 1902-1992. The second volume of Admiral Felt's oral history contains his recollections as Commander in Chief, Pacific, when the United States was becoming heavily involved in the Vietnamese conflict. Comments on his staff and organization of CINCPAC; the bombardment of Quemoy and Matsu, islands off the Chinese coast; trips to the Far East regarding Military Assistance Groups; U.S. in volvement in the Vietnam War duringjohn F. Kennedy's administration; Political situation in Laos; Taiwan Defense Command; the United States and the Nationalist Chinese on Taiwan; and U.S. military assistance to the Philippines.
