Burke, Arleight A., ADM, USN, 1901-1996. This volume in the Special Series deals with Burke's service on the General Board, March 1947 toJuly 1948,where he was tasked with a study of the Naval Shore Establishment. This project expanded to include the relevant civilian and military agencies in an effort to plan for the years ahead. Burke comments on his appointment to the Korean Armistice Delegation duringJuly-De­ cember 1951, that began work on a treaty while fighting still continued, and his position as head of OP-30, the Strategic Plans Division of the Navy.
