Scope and Contents
Burke, Arleight A., ADM, USN, 1901-1996. This oral history is divided into six interviews, each focusing on a separate topic in no particu lar chronological order. In interview one, Admiral Burke tells of an invitation to participate in a Japanese 1V documentary dealing with the use of minesweepers in the Korean War, while in in terview two he focuses on the evolution of the Japanese Navy and his role in it. Interview three deals with the Korean War and Burke's role as CNO Forrest Sherman's representative there. In terviews four through six treat Burke's wartime association with Admiral Marc Mitscher, when he served as his chief of staff during the major battles in the Central Pacific.
