Fellner discusses his training as a dive bomber pilot in WWII. He comments on the mishaps he had, his ship, the USS Franklin, carrier landings, missions over Bougainville, Munda, Rendova, Guadalcanal, Formosa, Okinawa, and the Philippines, his torpedoing of the Battleship Yamato, receipt of the Navy Cross, friendship with actress Anne Baxter, instructor at Cecil Field, marriage and the war's end. Comments on the dropping of the bomb in Japan, and his time in the Naval Reserves.
